Plan a quarter on the Canvas
Lay out objectives, epics, milestones, risks and decisions on one board, using real records that stay linked to delivery.
What you'll end up with
A quarter plan where every card is a real record, connected by lines, with notes for the thinking in between.
Why it matters
Quarter plans usually start on a whiteboard full of sticky notes that stop matching the backlog within weeks. On an Ondule Canvas the cards are the real objectives, epics and milestones, so the plan shows live status and never needs rebuilding.
Before you start
- A product with objectives, and ideally milestones and epics
Create a canvas
Open Canvas from the sidebar and press New canvas.
Click the name at the top and rename it, for example "Quarter plan".
Add records and notes
Press Add to canvas and choose Ondule records. Search or filter by product and status, then pick the objectives, milestones, epics, risks and decisions you want as cards.
Press Add to canvas again and choose Sticky note for ideas and questions, like "Builder first" or "Who owns the metric?".
Record cards and sticky notes on one board.
Connect the plan
Use the arrow or line tool in the drawing toolbar to connect related cards, for example objective to milestone and milestone to epic.
Drag cards into the story you want to tell. Add a Frame around each part if you want to present it frame by frame.
How it connects
Where the canvas sits among the other records.
Troubleshooting
Can I create a new epic straight from the canvas?
No. Create the epic in the product first, then add it to the canvas with Add to canvas → Ondule records.
If I delete a card from the canvas, is the record deleted?
No. Remove from canvas, or deleting the card, only takes it off this board. The epic, milestone or other record stays exactly as it was in the product, and on any other canvas or doc that shows it.
Can several people edit a canvas at once?
Yes. Everyone on the canvas sees each other's cursors and changes live, and you can leave comments pinned to the board.
